Chisinau, 8 April /MOLDPRES/- The promulgation decree and the law on advertising were published in the Official Journal of Moldova today.

The document sees the object of regulations in the sector - relationships between suppliers, manufacturers, distributors, broadcasters and consumers of advertising.

The right of advertising broadcasters is established to require the distributor to assume responsibility for the advertising message. The special regulations regarding the dissemination of advertising through web pages are completed and concretized and the space limit in private periodicals, reserved for commercial advertising is removed.

A new regulation is the one regarding the broadcasting of political advertising in the extra-electoral period. And the phrase "social advertising" is proposed to be replaced by the phrase "message of public interest". Commercial, indoor and outdoor advertising is regulated. It also regulates state control and sanctions in the field of advertising.

This law enters into force after the expiration of the term of 9 months from the date of publication in the Official Journal and at the same time Law No1227/1997 on advertising. Also, within 3 months from the date of entry into force of this law, the government will approve regulations on the structure, manner of establishment, organization and operation of the Council on messages of public interest. Within 6 months from the date of entry into force of this law, the relevant authorities shall submit to the Government proposals on bringing the legislation in force in accordance with this law; will bring their own normative acts in accordance with this law.
