Moldovan PM has meeting with Marshals of Senate, Sejm of Poland

Chisinau, 8 April /MOLDPRES/ - Prime Minister Natalia Gavrilita today met Marshal of the Polish Sejm Elżbieta Witek and Marshal of Poland’s Senate Tomasz Grodzki, the government’s communication and protocol department has reported.    

The officials exchanged opinions on the Moldovan-Polish cooperation in the fields of mutual interest and mechanisms of management of the refugees’ crisis, which started in the wake of the war in Ukraine.  

Thus, the sides highlighted the measures undertaken by the two states’ authorities for the social integration of the Ukrainian refugees and the similar experience of Moldova and Poland in taking quick, but efficient decisions, in order to provide assistance to people relocated from Ukraine. ‘’Ukraine fights for the entire Europe and we must mobilize and provide the Ukrainian citizens with needed assistance,’’ Marshal of the Polish Sejm Elżbieta Witek said.    

The sides also tackled a string of up-to-date actions on the agenda of the bilateral relations, stressing the importance of the work of the Moldovan-Polish parliamentary commission. ‘’We appreciate a lot the rapprochement between our countries on the last period. The joint parliamentary commission works efficiently to boost the joint dialogue,’’ PM Natalia Gavrilita said.    

The Polish officials expressed openness and support for Moldova in the process of implementation of the Association Agreement with the European Union. ‘’I want to assure you that Poland will support Moldova in ensuring the process of integration into the European Union. We are open to provide support in the process of justice reformation and expertise as regard the administration and decentralization reform,’’ Marshal of Poland’s Senate Tomasz Grodzki said.
