Chisinau, April 15 / MOLDPRES /- Resolution of the Joint Commission for European Integration between the Parliament of the Republic of Moldova and the Romanian Legislature in support of our country for joining the European Union was adopted yesterday in Bucharest.

"We welcome the decision of the Republic of Moldova of March 3, 2022 to submit the application for accession, as well as the receipt of the questionnaire of the European Commission necessary to issue the note on the above-mentioned application on April 11, 2022. We support the speedy passage of the accession and harmonization procedures with the legislation of the European Union and we express the full readiness of the Joint Commission to provide support, in this respect, to the Government of the Republic of Moldova. We encourage reforms and the favorable evolution of the democratic processes in the Republic of Moldova. We call for the clear recognition of the clear European perspective of the Republic of Moldova as soon as possible, based on its efforts and progress", the resolution reads.

At the same time, the continuation of the broad bilateral dialogue between Romania and the Republic of Moldova is encouraged in order to obtain solid political, diplomatic and institutional support from the member states of the European Union to speed up Moldova's European integration.

The Commission members consider the integration in the European Union of the Republic of Moldova a strategic desideratum for the two states, by virtue of the communion of Romanian language, culture and traditions, common history and the special ties of Romanian brotherhood.
