Chisinau residents hosting refugees to get one-off aid

Chisinau, April 15 / MOLDPRES /- Chisinau residents hosting Ukrainian refugees can register online to receive one-off aid worth 3,500 lei.

The capital's authorities announced that they have finalized the mechanism for providing financial assistance from the World Food Program for communities and families hosting refugees from Ukraine.

The host families will receive one-off aid of 3,500 lei, the equivalent of 190 US dollars.

According to information provided by the World Food Program, people currently hosting at least two refugees from Ukraine are eligible for a minimum period of one week.

To benefit from the assistance, the host families will register online on the platform www.uahelp.md, completing the steps with the indicated information, so that later they can receive the money at the Western Union offices.

At the same time, the Chisinau City Hall identified five offices, in each sector of the capital, for the online registration of those host families (persons) who do not have the possibility to register independently: Praetor's office Botanica (str. Teilor 10), Praetor's office Buiucani (str. Mihai Viteazul 2), Praetor's office Centru, (str. Bulgară 43), Praetor's office Ciocana (bd. Mircea cel Bătrân 4/3), Center for the temporary placement of refugees Patria-Lukoil (str. Studenţilor 7/5).

The online registration on www.uahelp.md will be available from April 15 and the activity of the offices will be available from April 18, 2022.
