Moldova's Supreme Security Council comes up with recommendations in context of situation on left bank of Dniester

Chisinau, 26 April /MOLDPRES/ - The Supreme Security Council (CSS) has found out the deeds of escalation of the situation on the left bank of Dniester and came up with more recommendations for the competent institutions. President Maia Sandu today made statements to this effect at the end of the CSS meeting.  

The head of state said that what happened in the Transnistrian region was a worsening of the tensions. ‘’During more weeks, there were false bomb alerts; the yesterday explosions at the headquarters of mgb (region’s state security), Tiraspol airdrome and Maiac came next. We keep an eye with vigilance on what is happening and our analyses show that there are tensions between different forces there. These actions create risks as to the peace in the country. Chisinau insists on the peaceful settlement of the Transnistrian conflict,’’ Sandu said.    

The Moldovan president noted that CSS today had recommended that the public institutions: enhance the intensity of the verifications of the movement nearby the Security Zone; enhance the intensity of patrol and verification on the territory of Moldova and at the border; enhance the level of alert as regards the tightening of the security of the critical infrastructure objects; all institutions competent with the ensuring of public order and security should enhance the level of alert.     

“These actions take place on the territory uncontrolled by Moldova, but our citizens live there. We stay open for settling the situation through dialogue,’’ Maia Sandu added.
