Excise duty for diesel for farmers to be partially compensated in Moldova

Chisinau, 27 April /MOLDPRES/ - Two hundred lei will be allocated for the agricultural producers from the state budget, in order to provide partial compensation of the excise duty on diesel, the government’s communication and protocol department has reported.    

In this respect, the cabinet today approved the Regulation on the distribution of the financial assistance. Under the document, the excise duties on diesel will be compensated at the level of 30 per cent of the quota established for 2022 or 894 lei per one ton, in quantum of up to 100,000 lei annually per one beneficiary.  

All agricultural producers are eligible for compensation, both from the vegetal sector and the animal husbandry one. To benefit from financial support, farmers should observe several conditions: to be registered not later than the date of submitting the application on asking compensations; to legally own farmlands; the agricultural exploitations should be useful operation term and the diesel should be utilized for the carrying out of works in agricultural exploitations.  

The files on asking for compensation will be submitted by the applicant to the territorial subdivisions of the Agency of Interventions and Payments for Agriculture. 

The need for the Regulation’s approval is reasoned in the regional context, which triggered the increase in prices for agricultural products and the doubling of the diesel price.
