Chisinau, April 28 / MOLDPRES /- In the north of the country, the works to increase the energy efficiency of the theoretical high school Dimitrie Cantemir from Bălți municipality continue, carried out under a project financed by the European Union. Interior renovation work is currently underway at the high school.

"The economic operator is to thermal insulate the outer walls of blocks A and A2. The energy efficiency works of the A3 block of the educational institution, as well as most of the interior works were completed at the end of last year. The contracted executing company started the works in Bălți in January 2021 ”, explained sources from the North Regional Development Agency (ADR).

Following the implementation of the project, the annual standardized energy consumption in the educational institution will be reduced, according to estimates, by 547 MWh, and the annual standardized CO2 emissions - by 125 tons. Also, about 960 students, teachers and support staff will benefit from improved educational conditions and a comfortable study environment.

The total cost of the construction-assembly works within this project is 22.22 million lei, of which 22.09 million lei represent the financing of the European Union, through ADR Nord, and 132,680 lei - co-financing from the Balti City Hall. Subsequently, the City Hall of Bălți also contributed an additional 1.51 million lei, thus covering the cost of repairing the interior walls on the halls and classrooms in block A3.

The project Increasing the energy efficiency of the theoretical high school Dimitrie Cantemir in Balti is funded by the European Union and implemented by ADR Nord with the project Modernization of Local Public Services in the Republic of Moldova (MSPL). The MSPL project is funded by the German Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development and implemented by the German Agency for International Cooperation (GIZ Moldova) in partnership with the Ministry of Infrastructure and Regional Development of the Republic of Moldova.
