Moldovan, Romanian foreign affairs ministers discuss bilateral relations

Chisinau, 30 April /MOLDPRES/ - Deputy Prime Minister, Foreign Affairs and European Integration Minister Nicu Popescu today had a phone conversation with Foreign Affairs Minister of Romania Bogdan Aurescu, the Foreign Affairs and European Integration Ministry’s (MAEIE) press service has reported.   

„The relations between Moldova and Romania presently witness the sincerest and the closest level of all the recent history,’’ Minister Nicu Popescu said.  

The officials discussed the complicated situation triggered by the war in Ukraine, as well as the developments from the Transnistrian region of Moldova. In the context, Deputy PM Nicu Popescu thanked Romania for the full support, for the call to the Moldovan authorities to calm and responsibility, to manage these developments responsibly and transparently.  

The sides also referred to Moldova’s ambitious European integration and the experts’ effort in filling in the questionnaire and in the subsequent way of reforms and modernization for accession to the European Union, close by Romania.
