Chisinau, 11 May /MOLDPRES/ - The National Public Health Agency (ANSP) warns residents to be prudent while using phyto-sanitary products. ANSP noted that 620 cases of intoxications with pesticides had been already recorded since early 2022.
According to the quoted source, the irrational use of pesticides by people with insufficient education, especially on private plots of land, and in the lack of individual protection equipment, inevitably has an impact on the health condition. On the period 1 January – 5 May 2022, 620 cases of intoxications were registered, including in 13 children. Six (55 per cent) out of 11 cases recorded in adults took place following their use on suicide purpose.
Thus, ANSP specialists warn parents not to leave recipients with pesticides without supervision and to place them out of reach of children. They specified that 2 cases of intoxications had recently occurred, with the affecting of 3 children with ages between 1 and 3 years. They ask residents to buy pesticides only from authorized providers, in order avoid the purchasing of counterfeit products and to attentively read of package label.
