Book exhibition dedicated to family opened at Moldova's National Library

Chisinau, 11 May /MOLDPRES/ - The United Nations Information Centre at the National Library of Moldova (BNRM) today opened an exhibition titled, Family – promoter of values, in the context of the International Day of Families, annually marked on 15 May.
Contacted by MOLDPRES, a chief specialist at BNRM, one of the exhibition’s curators Elena Zosim said the exhibition comprised about 90 publications of the National Library’s collections and was aimed at familiarizing visitors with documents of the institution’s collections, which show the importance of the family and its promotion in the society.
According to Zosim, the documents are systemized in more components.
The exhibition can be visited on the period 12 May – 5 June.
The International Day of Families was proclaimed by the UN General Assembly in 1993 as an event with fixed data on 15 May. Starting from 1996, each year, United Nations Secretary General has been choosing a special motto for this day. This year, the motto is Families and Urbanization, which is set to enhance the degree of awareness about the importance of the sustainable urban policies, friendly to families.
