Moldovan foreign affairs minister, EU high official discuss Moldova's European agenda

Chisinau, 14 May /MOLDPRES/ - Deputy Prime Minister, Foreign Affairs and European Integration Minister Nicu Popescu has discussed Moldova’s European agenda with High Representative of the European Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Josep Borrell Fontelles, during his working visit to Germany, the Foreign Affairs and European Integration Ministry’s (MAEIE) press service has reported.
The officials exchanged opinions on the consideration by the European Union of the application on Moldova’s accession to EU, in the context that Moldova has submitted the answers to the second part of the European Commission’s questionnaire.
The Moldovan diplomacy head expressed confidence that the European Commission’s Opinion on the application on accession would serve as a solid basis for a positive decision on the subject by the European Union member states.
„We committed for the benefit of our citizens through sustained, joint efforts of the public institutions, business environment, civil society and the citizens to modernize and reform our country. We are prepared to work together to this end,’’ Deputy PM Nicu Popescu said.
Also, the sides tackled the subject on liberalization of the trade with EU, in order to increase Moldova’s exports to the Union, as well as extend the Moldova-European Union cooperation in the security sector.
