Moldovan diplomacy head has meeting with German foreign affairs minister

Chisinau, 14 May /MOLDPRES/ -Deputy Prime Minister, Foreign Affairs and European Integration Minister Nicu Popescu has had a meeting with Germany’s Minister of Foreign Affairs Annalena Baerbock, on the sidelines of the G7 ministerial meeting, held in the German settlement of Weissenhaus. The officials tackled the impact of the war in Ukraine on Moldova, which has serious economic, social and humanitarian consequences for Moldova.
According to the Foreign Affairs and European Integration Ministry’s (MAEIE) press service, Deputy PM Nicu Popescu thanked for Germany’s support for the co-organization of the Moldova Donor Conference, held in Berlin on 5 April and which remains the international conference on the country’s support. The next meeting is planned to be hosted by Romania.
„I appreciated the fact that Germany continues, through concrete actions, to support Moldova’s sovereignty and territorial integrity, as well as the country’s European integration. Our future in the family of European states is based on the delivery of reforms demanded by the citizens, combating corruption and the state’s modernization according to the European standards,’’ Minister Nicu Popescu said.
