Balti History Museum to be modernized with national funds

Chisinau, May 16 / MOLDPRES /- The Museum of History and Ethnography in Balti will be modernized as part of an infrastructure project funded by the National Fund for Regional and Local Development (FNDRL). It is the first museum in the north of the country to be rehabilitated with national funds.
According to the enterprise contract, within five months, starting with May 2022, the executing company undertook to rehabilitate and modernize the Museum of History and Ethnography in Balti, in accordance with the provisions of the technical project, the details of execution, and the regulations, technical standards and prescriptions.
The director of the North Regional Development Agency (ADR), Maria Prisacari, mentioned that this is the first project for the rehabilitation and modernization of a museum in the north of the Republic of Moldova financed from national financial sources. "Cultural heritage and the development of tourist destinations in our region need support. Let's make the most of the culture and tourism in the north of the country, because these values characterize us to a very large extent ", the head of ADR Nord revealed.
The contract for the project Rehabilitation, modernization and endowment of the Museum of History and Ethnography in Balti has a value of 2.86 million lei (over 140 thousand euros) and was signed by ADR Nord, Balti City Hall and a company local construction. Later, within this project, another public procurement procedure will be announced in order to procure goods for the endowment of the Museum from Bălți. For the implementation of the project, nine million lei have been allocated from FNDRL for 2022.
