Citizens of localities where new local elections will be held may apply to vote with mobile ballot box

Chisinau, May 16 / MOLDPRES /- Citizens of the localities where new local elections will take place can apply to vote with a mobile ballot box. These are people who, due to health or other compelling reasons, cannot attend polling station premises on election day.

According to the Central Electoral Commission, applications can be submitted starting two weeks before the day of voting and until 18.00 on the day before voting. On election day, applications can be submitted until 15.00, if a medical certificate is presented.

Persons who are unable to apply in person at the polling station have the right to vote at the venue where they have the right to do so through a member of their family or to request the assistance of a social worker from the town hall. Requests for voting at the location of visually impaired persons may also be made orally.

On election day, the head of the polling station shall designate at least two members of the polling station who shall travel with a mobile ballot box and the necessary voting material to the polling station for the voter to vote.

On May 29, new local elections will take place in 10 localities in the country.
