Moldova's Environment Agency allows fishing of Danube herring

Chisinau, 16 May /MOLDPRES/ - The Environment Agency has allowed the fishing of Danube herring on the period 14 May – 15 June. The fishing is allowed on the lower course of the Dniester river from the Palanca village, Stefan Voda district, up to the dam of the Dubasari hydro-electric power station, as well as on the Turunciuc river arm.
Under the provisions of an order by the Agency, on the period of prohibition (15 April 15 June 2022), the sports, amateur and leisure fishing of Danube herring (Alosa immaculata) in the Dniester river is allowed during 33 days in a row, as of 14 May 2022 till 15 June 2022 inclusively, based on a permit.
The goal of the order’s working out is to regulate the fishing of the Danube herring on the period of migration and maintain the reproductive potential and the number of this species at the best level.
