Moldovan parliament speaker has meeting with French senators

Chisinau, 16 May /MOLDPRES/ - Parliament Speaker Igor Grosu today met a delegation of the group of friendship with Moldova of the Senate of France, on a visit to Chisinau. The discussions were focused on the recent security developments in Moldova, efforts of edifying an area of peace regionally, as well as the implementation of the internal agenda of reforms, the parliament’s communication and public relations department has reported.
In the context, Igor Grosu thanked the French senators for the support provided by France for the carrying out of Moldova’s European integration and for the assistance provided to manage the flow of refugees. The parliament speaker noted that, despite the fact that the war in Ukraine had switched the Moldovan authorities’ efforts of modernization on the second place, progress was recorded in the carrying out of the priorities announced: justice reform and fighting corruption.
During the discussions, the speaker expressed Moldova’s interest in joint project on the development of infrastructure, strengthening the energy security and energy efficiency, as well as for investment projects. ‘’We appreciate the fact that France keeps interest in our country and the Francophonie feels comfortable in Moldova.’’ Parliament Speaker Igor Grosu stressed.
The officials welcomed the boosting of the bilateral relations between Moldova and France and spoke out for fostering the cooperation on the inter-parliamentary platform.
