Chisinau, May 17 / MOLDPRES /- Israeli organization, IsraAID, has opened an office in the Republic of Moldova to support the management of the refugee crisis in Ukraine. Yesterday, the party's representatives had a meeting with Adriana Cazacu, State Secretary of the Ministry of Education and Research (MEC), during which they pointed out the areas of collaboration.

During the meeting, the topic of organizing the unique entrance exam in Ukrainian educational institutions (Bachelor's and Master's degree cycle) for refugee children and young people in Moldova was addressed. The list of needs, drawn up by the MEC, was also discussed, indicating the needs of Ukrainian children from refugee families, including: sets of supplies, computer technology, which would allow them to connect to online lessons etc. The official also announced his intention to reopen the summer camps, in which, in addition to children from Moldova, children from refugee families will be included.

The representatives of IsraAID offered to propose, in collaboration with the MEC, several support programs both of immediate urgency and to help establish long-term mechanisms and systems to adapt to the changing needs of refugees. The programs will aim at the psychological rehabilitation and maintenance of the well-being of Ukrainian children in Moldova, especially to alleviate the educational gap created by the war, by facilitating their integration into the Moldovan education system.

IsraAID provides support in the following areas: training facilities for school staff and teachers to improve their capacity to support the integration of Ukrainian children, support for school staff to meet emerging challenges, transitional / temporary education mechanisms for moving communities (including remote learning solutions), support to alleviate language and culture differences between the integrated and host communities and so on.

IsraAID is an international non-governmental humanitarian aid organization based in Israel. Since its establishment in 2001, IsraAID teams have worked in emergencies and long-term development in over 50 countries.
