US Embassy to support repair of high school in Vulcanesti

Chisinau, 17 May /MOLDPRES/- Governor of Gagauzia Irina Vlah met today in Comrat with US Ambassador to Moldova Kent Doyle Logsdon. The sides considered the repair project of a high school in Vulcanesti, which will be supported by the United States Agency for International Development (USAID).

The officials exchanged views on the current situation in the Republic of Moldova, as well as the impact on the national economy of the crisis phenomena facing our country.

They also discussed the project, which the US Embassy intends to implement in the region. The project sees the reconstruction of the Luceafărul high school in Vulcănești, namely: the repair of the roof and the facade, the replacement of the sewerage system and the construction of an internal sanitary unit.

The governor expressed gratitude to the US Embassy for supporting the people of the region.

"Education sector is a priority for the authorities of Gagauzia. We want our students to be able to study in the state language in comfortable conditions. Knowledge of the state language will open a wide range of opportunities for our young people and will help them get a quality education and find a job at home. Your support helps us keep our young people," said Irina Vlah.
