Chisinau, May 18 / MOLDPRES /- Over 100 trolleybuses out of a total of 330 issued daily on the capital's lines are equipped with air conditioning, which is about 30%. Head of the Chisinau Electric Transport Authority (RTEC) Dorin Ciornii provided the data.
RTEC management noted that since 2019, the institution has purchased only trolleybuses that are equipped with air conditioning to ensure the comfort of passengers. "All trolleybuses are purchased from Belarus. The price of a car equipped with air conditioning is 15 thousand euros higher than that of a trolleybus without air conditioning ", said Dorin Ciornîi.
At the same time, he said that for this year, 80 million lei (about 4 million euros) have been allocated for the purchase of 20 new trolleybuses and 50 ones. "Currently, discussions are underway with Belarusian partners on their transportation. For the most part, we opt for articulated trolleybuses to increase the boarding capacity ", he said.
According to RTEC, about 320 Belarusian-made trolleybuses have been assembled in the company's repair workshop since 2012. Over the past year, the municipality has assembled or purchased 82 trolleybuses.
Currently, 430 trolleybuses are registered in the company's park, of which 330 are issued daily on the line. The new trolleybuses have an air conditioning system, indoor / outdoor video surveillance system, a special place for hand luggage, USB sockets for passengers to charge electronic devices, LED-based optical blocks, mirrors equipped with a heating system and a ramp for people with reduced mobility. The cost of a trolleybus is 165 thousand euros.
