Moldovan president meets representatives of more political groups of European Parliament

Chisinau, 18 May /MOLDPRES/ - President Maia Sandu today met representatives of more political groups of the European Parliament: Group of the European People’s Party (EPP), Progressive Alliance of Socialists & Democrats, the Greens/European Free Alliance Group and the Renew Europe Group, the presidential press service has reported.  

At the meetings, the officials exchanged opinions on the security situation in the region, in the context of the war waged by Russia in Ukraine and discussed the agenda of Moldova’s reformation. The head of state also presented to MEPs the vision of the governmental team on Moldova’s European integration.   

„I thanked the European lawmakers for the European Parliament’s resolution from 5 May 2022, which recommended giving to Moldova of the status of country candidate for accession. With the support of the EU member states, Moldova will quicker advance on the way of reforms and can thus become a pole of stability in the region,’’ President Maia Sandu said.
