Flămânzeni gymnasium renovated with EU support

Chisinau, May 19 / MOLDPRES /- Reception for the completion of the renovation works within the project to increase the energy efficiency of Iurie Boghiu gymnasium, financed by the European Union, took place yesterday in Flămânzeni village, Sangerei district.

The management of the North Regional Development Agency (ADR), representatives of the German Agency for International Cooperation (GIZ) Moldova, local authorities, representatives of several competent institutions and the contractor inspected the gymnasium to check the volume of work performed and their quality. The members of the reception commission signed the documents attesting the completion of the renovation works of the educational institution.

ADR Nord head Maria Prisacari underlined the importance of the project for Flămânzeni. "It is the first energy efficiency project funded by the European Union that has been successfully completed. Energy efficiency is a priority of national importance and we are glad that in the North Development Region, in Flămânzeni, we have an example that many other localities can take over ", she said.

The total cost of the construction works within this project is 21.7 million lei (over one million euros), of which 21.28 million lei is the financing of the European Union, through ADR Nord, and 430.5 thousand lei - co-financing from the Sangerei District Council.

The investment measure Increasing the energy efficiency of Iurie Boghiu gymnasium in Flămânzeni is funded by the European Union and implemented by ADR Nord and the project Modernization of Local Public Services in the Republic of Moldova (MSPL). The MSPL project is funded by the German Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development and implemented by GIZ Moldova in partnership with the Ministry of Infrastructure and Regional Development of the Republic of Moldova.
