Over 200 people with visual, hearing impairments received food packages

Chisinau, May 19 / MOLDPRES /- Over 200 members of the society of the blind and deaf in the capital received food packages today.

The head of the General Directorate of Medical and Social Assistance, Boris Gîlca, said that the packages contain basic necessities. "It's about canned food, cereals and hygiene products. They support people with visual and hearing impairments to ensure their daily needs. It is a useful aid, fully funded by the Turkish Development and Cooperation Agency (TIKA), for which we thank them. It is not the first time that our partners come to support vulnerable groups and show support ", said Gîlca.

The head of the TIKA Agency in Moldova, Selda Özdenoglu, assured of being with the social groups that need support. "I have brought you a lot of love from the Turkish people. We have achieved many beautiful things so far and we will continue to do so, "said Selda Özdenoglu.

According to the data of Chisinau city hall, the Association of the Deaf counts about 900 people and the Society of the Blind - over 800 people.
