Moldovan deputy PM to participate in Session of Council of Europe's Committee of Ministers

Chisinau, 19 May /MOLDPRES/ - Deputy Prime Minister, Foreign Affairs and European Integration Minister Nicu Popescu will lead Moldova’s delegation at the 132nd session of the Council of Europe’s Committee of Ministers. The heads of the diplomacies from those 46 member states will bring together at Venaria Reale, Turin, on 20 May, under the Italian chairmanship of the Committee of Ministers, the Foreign Affairs and European Integration Ministry’s (MAEIE) press service has reported.       

This will be an opportunity to sum up the achievements of the Italian chairmanship and, in general, to exchange opinions at the ministerial level on the major fields of interest of the Council of Europe and the current political and security situation.

The participation of Minister Nicu Popescu in the aforementioned meeting takes place in a moment of security crisis in Europe and the commitment to the principles and values shared by the Council of Europe and its member states is even more important for Moldova. 

To promote the bilateral and European integration agenda of Moldova, Foreign Affairs Minister Nicu Popescu will hold, on the sidelines of the session, a string of meetings with the foreign affairs ministers of Estonia, Denmark, Lithuania, the United Kingdom, Malta, Switzerland, North Macedonia, Montenegro, Italy, Norway, Serbia and Spain.
