Moldovan PM visits CREDO centre for disabled children, young people from Sangerei

Chisinau, 20 May /MOLDPRES/ - Prime Minister Natalia Gavrilita, on a working visit to the central Sangerei district, went to the CREDO centre for disabled children and young people. The institution provides support for the rehabilitation of people with special needs, their integration into the society, as well as training specialists in the field.     

According to the government’s communication and protocol department, Natalia Gavrilita was met with the Centre’s Anthem, composed by children and employees of the institution. Also, children told the PM about the favourite activities and prepared her a small excursion in the institution’s rooms.  

The prime minister discussed with the centre’s employees the problems faced by the institution and the importance of providing quality services to young people who need support. ‘’Our duty is to reduce the current barriers, in order to ensure the social inclusion of the people with special needs and made efforts, as state, for their rehabilitation. We are determined to fully get involved, to further promote policies which will provide equal chances and of protection to children, young people and adults with special needs, as well as policies which will fully turn to good account their potential,’’ Natalia Gavrilita said.    

Founded by the Sangerei mayoralty in 2006, the Centre can serve 30 people with ages between 4 and 25 years. Those nine employees of the Centre work five days per week and provide services of physiotherapy, occupational therapy, logopedia, medical and social assistance. Also, if necessary, the Centre provides transport services to beneficiaries.       

Presently, 20 people benefit from the centre’s services, the activity of which is financed from the local budget.
