Moldovan PM has meeting with representatives of local authorities from Sangerei district

Chisinau, 20 May /MOLDPRES/ - The need of investments in the development of infrastructure, modernization of public services and education institutions, measures of backing the agricultural sector were the main subjects tackled at a today’s meeting with the participation of Prime Minister Natalia Gavrilita and representatives of the first and second level authorities from the central Sangerei district, the government’s communication and protocol department has reported.

The prime minister stressed that the regional development remained one of the cabinet’s priorities. In this respect, the European Village National Local Development Programme was launched. Under the programme, infrastructure projects will be backed: construction or modernization of water and sewerage supply systems, renovation of kindergartens, schools, as well as the development of local businesses.

„The government provided, within the Local Development Programme, over 670 million lei for the development of rural settlements. We will continue attracting external funds, so that the citizens from any corner of the country benefit from decent conditions for living,’’ Natalia Gavrilita said.

As much as 21.57 million lei was provided to the Sangerei district from road fund’s means in 2022. The money will be used for the maintenance and reconstruction of national public roads from the region.

Following discussions with mayors, the sides identified the needs of financing in the education sector and modernization of education institutions from the region, endowment of laboratories and sports halls with modern equipment.

The people present in the hall discussed also aspects related to ecology, such as: construction of a waste management polygon in the Sangerei district, liquidation of a warehouse of chemicals in the Pepeni village, Sangerei district and sanitation of the Cubolta river, which crosses more settlements of the region.
