Chisinau, May 25 / MOLDPRES /- The closing conference of the Moldovan-Slovak project Improving the quality of life in Ialoveni city through improved access to drinking water and awareness of water management was held in Ialoveni yesterday.

The results of the project include the construction of a new cast iron network with a length of 1060 meters, with a diameter of 300 mm; construction of five water supply points for firefighters (hydrants) that are used in fire situations; the purchase of a chlorine dosing plant, thus replacing the old plant that is over 40 years old; design of a modern hypochlorite production and dosing facility, which will align the water disinfection station with European water disinfection standards, etc. "The whole population of Ialoveni is an indirect beneficiary by ensuring a 24/24 quality service", according to the Regional Development Agency (ADR) Center.

"Slovakia, although not the main foreign financier, which supports the Republic of Moldova, is with you and actively participates in initiatives that have a positive impact on citizens. We are with you from now on to offer you our support and experience in increasing the quality of life for the people of Ialoveni, "said Maroš Kramar, Slovakia's attaché in Moldova.

"We thank the Slovak partners for their professionalism and good practices, which they share during the joint activities. I learned valuable things not only about infrastructure works, but also about the awareness of the population regarding the rational use of natural resources ", ADR Center head Pavel Trofin said.

The implementation period of the Moldovan-Slovak project is 1 October 2020 - 31 May 2022, carried out by the Agency for Regional Development (ADR) Senec-Pezinok (Slovakia), in partnership with ADR Center and Ialoveni city hall. The project is financially supported by the Slovak Government through Slovak Aid and co-financed by the Senec-Pezinok Regional Development Agency.
