Moldovan diplomat discussed with OSCE Secretary-General

Chisinau, May 25 / MOLDPRES /- On the sidelines of the World Economic Forum in Davos, Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Foreign Affairs and European Integration Nicu Popescu met with Secretary General of the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe Helga Maria Schmid, the MAEIE press service has reported.

The officials exchanged views on the implications of the security situation in the region following Russia's war against Ukraine, expressing a firm commitment to support the neighboring state.

"Referring to the Transnistrian settlement, we pointed out the need for its peaceful settlement, based on the principles of sovereignty and territorial integrity within the internationally recognized borders of the Republic of Moldova," said Popescu.
