So-called yellow code of security alert established in Transnistrian region for 25 May-8 June

14:52 | 25.05.2022 Category: Official

Chisinau, 25 May /MOLDPRES/ - The so-called red code of security alert, active for the period 26 April-25 May 2022, was cancelled under a ‘’decision’’ approved by the Tiraspol leader today. At the same time, the Transnistrian leader approved the so-called yellow code of alert, for a period of 15 calendar days (26 May-08 June 2022), the Reintegration Policies Bureau has reported.

We ascertain that, although the level of alert was diminished, decision-makers boosted a string of restrictive measures, of fostering the regime of work of various structures, of enhanced verification of different infrastructure structures, transport means, people, etc.

Among the measures instructed, there is the obligation for citizens to be registered when moving through the so-called crossing points of Tiraspol, setting of control posts at entrances in the cities from the region, enhancing the detailed control and with special technical means of the transport means which enter/leave the region, including those from bus terminals and railway stations from the left bank of Dniester and Bender municipality.

The restrictive measures established trigger concerns, given that such impediments do not persist and are not established on the right bank of Dniester in relation with the residents from the Transnistrian region and proceeding from the competent national authorities’ impossibility to intervene in the temporarily non-controlled perimeters in cases of eventual incidents, we suggest avoiding, on this period, unjustified trips to the region or which can generate risks of illegal limiting of the universally guaranteed rights and freedoms.
