Rehabilitation works of bridges in Moldova carried out according to norms - ASD says

Chisinau, 26 May /MOLDPRES/- The State Road Administration (ASD) has checked several bridges in the country that are being rehabilitated, and the works are being carried out in accordance with the rules.

According to ASD, the bridges under rehabilitation on the routes M1 Border with Romania - Leuseni - Chisinau - Dubasari - border with Ukraine and M5 Border with Ukraine - Criva - Balti - Chisinau - Tiraspol - border with Ukraine were checked. Also, the ASD leadership monitored the construction sites and the elements used in the construction of the bridges from Bravicea, from km 276 and km 38 on the M5 route, the bridge from km 108 on the M1 route, as well as the correspondence of the works executed with the project.

"The contract requirements, the regulations in force and the specifications are observed. Rehabilitation works are carried out according to schedule. Our priority is for the works to be carried out qualitatively and in the established terms ", ASD acting director general Sergiu Bejan said.

ASD manages 870 bridges positioned on national public roads, their total length being about 21 kilometers. Seven of the bridges cross the Dniester River and five cross the Prut River. Depending on their technical condition, 203 bridges are unsatisfactory, 326 are satisfactory, in good condition - 341 bridges. Currently, 34 bridges are being repaired, the works being executed from the financial means of the road fund. In the process of rehabilitation, there are 59 bridges within the projects for the rehabilitation of national roads financed from external sources. The duration of the works is multi-annual, depending on the complexity and length of the contracted routes.
