Last day when electoral agitation is allowed for new local polls 27 May in Moldova

Chisinau, 27 May /MOLDPRES/ - The Central Electoral Commission (CEC) has warned that today, 27 May, was the last day when actions of electoral agitation for the new local polls, due on 29 May, were allowed.
Under the provisions of the Electoral Code, the electoral agitation is strictly banned on the day of elections and on the day before. On this period, the participation of contenders in TV and radio programmes is not allowed too. The ban does not apply to the information already placed in the internet and on the earlier displayed posters.
At the same time, the electoral contenders cannot make transfers to/from the account titled, Electoral Fund.
The continuation of the electoral agitation by mass media, electoral competitors or citizens represents administrative contravention and is sanctioned with fine worth from 15 to 30 conventional units (750-1,500 lei), imposed to a private person or with fine worth from 35 to 50 conventional units (1,750-2,500 lei), imposed to the decision-maker or electoral contender.
New local elections will be held in ten settlements of Moldova on 29 May.
