Chisinau, 27 May /MOLDPRES/ - The second installment of the humanitarian assistance was delivered by the government of Moldova to Ukraine today. Seven trucks with essential products, meant for Ukrainian citizens, left the Criva-Mamaliga customs checkpoint for Chernivtsi, the government’s communication and protocol department has reported.

Five trucks carried material assets managed by the Interior Ministry – sleeping bags, tents, anti-gas masks. The other trucks contained products provided by the Labour and Social Protection Ministry. People from Ukraine will receive non-perishable food products, food for animals, clothes and hygiene kits for the entire family.

This is the second humanitarian consignment Moldova is delivering to the neighbour country, worth 67.5 million lei. The last installment of this consignment will be delivered on the next period. It will contain glass worth over 1.2 million lei.

The first consignment of humanitarian assistance, worth 24 million lei, was transmitted to Ukraine in early last April. Both batches of humanitarian assistance were donated based on decisions approved by the Commission for Emergency Situations.
