Moldova to host meeting of parliament speakers from NB8 member states

Chisinau, 28 May /MOLDPRES/ - The parliament speakers from the Nordic Baltic Eight (NB8) will pay a joint visit to Moldova. The visit takes place at an initiative by Parliament Speaker Igor Grosu, the parliament’s communication and public relations department has reported.
Moldova’s parliament on 31 May will host a meeting of the parliament speakers from Lithuania, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, Iceland, Latvia, Norway and Sweden.
Following discussions with Parliament Speaker Igor Grosu, those eight delegations will have meetings with the heads of the parliamentary factions. Subsequently, the parliament speakers will give a joint news conference.
The agenda of the visit to Moldova by the parliament speakers from NB8 includes also a meeting with Prime Minister Natalia Gavrilita, as well as discussions with civil society’s representatives. The officials will also visit the centre of temporary placement for refugees from the Moldexpo International Exhibitions Centre.
Nordic-Baltic 8 (NB8) is a regional format of cooperation, which brings together eight states: Lithuania, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, Iceland, Latvia, Norway and Sweden. Topical regional and international issues are within the competence of the forum.
