Price of petrol, diesel to increase

Chisinau, May 30 / MOLDPRES /- For 31 May the following maximum retail prices of the main oil products of the standard type were established: COR 95 petrol - 31.31 lei / liter (+0.16 lei); diesel - 27.42 lei / liter (+0.13 lei), the National Agency for Energy Regulation (ANRE) has reported.

ANRE explained in this context that, lately, the increases in Platts quotations continue, which have a decisive influence on the level of prices for pumped fuels.

According to the institution, the oil shortage caused by the war in Ukraine and the refusal of European Union countries to import crude oil and oil products from the Russian Federation continue to lead to a significant increase in international fuel prices. Given that the Republic of Moldova imports 100% of the oil products consumed, the current trends are also reflected on the national market. As a result, Platts quotations, which represent the reference values ​​for the oil industry, on the basis of which prices are formed, have risen sharply recently.

"On May 27, the price of diesel exceeded the level of 1150 dollars / ton, which is 72.41% more than at the beginning of 2022, and for COR 95 gasoline it exceeded the level of 1300 dollars / ton. ton, which is 75.14% more than at the beginning of this year and is in fact a record for the period pursued in the last 10 years ", summarizes a press release ANRE.
