Moldova demanded solidarity mechanism to overcome energy crisis

Chisinau, June 6 / MOLDPRES /- We call for the creation of a solidarity mechanism for countries such as the Republic of Moldova, to overcome the current energy crisis. The statement was made by Deputy Prime Minister Andrei Spinu, Minister of Infrastructure and Regional Development at the Baku Energy Week Forum, held on 1 - 4 June in the capital of the Republic of Azerbaijan.
The event brought together government representatives from countries in the region, as well as international energy industry leaders. They debated in a discussion platform on ensuring energy security.
In his speech at the ministerial session, focusing on the energy transition in the current geopolitical context, Andrei Spinu referred to the challenges facing our country and the need to diversify routes and sources of energy supply to increase energy security. In this context, Spinu called for the creation of a solidarity mechanism for countries such as the Republic of Moldova, important for overcoming the current energy crisis.
On the sidelines of the event, Spinu had several bilateral meetings: with the Deputy Secretary for Energy Diplomacy in the Office of Energy Resources, US State Department, Laura Lochman; with the Azerbaijani Minister of Energy, Parviz Shahbazov, as well as with the Azerbaijani Ministers of Economy and Agriculture, Mikayil Jabbarov and Inam Karimov.
