About 500 drivers fined within Pedestrian operation in Moldova

Chisinau, 7 June /MOLDPRES/ - About 500 drivers have been fined for the failure to give priority to pedestrians when crossing streets. The drivers were documented within the Pedestrian operation, carried out by policemen last week.
According to the General Police Inspectorate, during the action, law-enforcers fined about 500 pedestrians for crossing streets by infringing the regulations.
Through the Pedestrian operation, policemen are set to enhance citizens’ responsibility as to the risk they are put at when they cross the street, as well as to warn them to be more prudent.
Within the campaign, policemen informed pedestrians about how to cross the street correctly and in safety. At the same time, law-enforcers carried out over 200 classes of prevention in schools, as well as distributed folders containing the principal rules which must be observed for a safe movement on street.
