Moldovan diplomacy head pays working visit to Brussels

Chisinau, 8 June /MOLDPRES/ - Deputy Prime Minister, Foreign Affairs and European Integration Minister Nicu Popescu is on a working visit to Brussels, in order to promote Moldova’s country project – getting the status of country candidate for the European Union, the Foreign Affairs and European Integration Ministry’s (MAEIE) press service has reported.
„On our way of reforms and democratic transformations, we need every effective, firm and solidary support of the EU’s institutions and member states for our perspective of accession,’’ Minister Nicu Popescu said.
Moldova’s irreversible path towards the rapprochement with the European Union means aligning for the benefit of the citizens and in diverse sectoral fields, such as: energy, transport, environment, agriculture, as well as the deepening of the cooperation in terms of defence and security, in order to strengthen our resilience.
At meetings with EU high-ranking officials, Deputy PM Nicu Popescu will reiterate that Moldova is a country with a European history and identity; we speak one of the official languages of the European Union, the Romanian language; our citizens prove their attachment to the European values.
