Moldovan national food safety agency withdraws more consignments of non-conforming pastry products from commerce

Chisinau, 13 June /MOLDPRES/ - The National Food Safety Agency (ANSA) has withdrawn more non-conforming pastry products from the commerce network.
According to ANSA, following a notification received from consumers, an unforeseen control was carried out at an importer of pastry goods. ‘’Following the control, decision-makers found out the fact of displaying for sale 15 consignments of cakes, biscuits, pretzels and crackers with expired validity term, of which ten batches of cakes were suspected of change of the fabrication date,’’ ANSA said.
The Agency verified more trade units which belong to the operator from the food sector, placed in Moldova’s districts. After controls made by inspectors in areas, also non-conformities were detected, such as: commercialization of pastry products without quality certificates, the lack of ensuring their traceability, etc.
All non-conforming products found following controls were withdrawn from the food circulation and prescriptions were issued to the food operator to destroy or conditionally use these products. Official reports on contravention on the deed ascertained were compiled against the food sector operator.
The National Food Safety Agency asks the food sector operators to observe the provisions of the legal framework in the field of food products’ safety.
