Moldovan authorities show decrease in waiting time to cross Moldovan-Romanian border

Chisinau, June 14 / MOLDPRES /- The Moldovan authorities show a decrease in the waiting time for crossing the Moldovan-Romanian border. The Ministry of Internal Affairs announced today that the streamlining of traffic is due to the increase in the pace of cargo control processing.
According to the Ministry of Interior, the waiting line at the Leușeni-Albița border crossing is almost 2 km long. This morning, at 5:00, there were 126 trucks of goods and food waiting to be checked at the border.
On Monday, the record was set for the number of trucks that crossed the border through the Leușeni-Albița point. There are 437 trucks, compared to 320 the day before. In total, at the border points with Romania, 852 trucks crossed the border (Cahul - 89 trucks, Costești - 53, Giurgiulești-Galați - 170, Lipcani-Rădăuți - 3, Sculeni - 100 trucks). At the same time, through the Moldovan-Ukrainian sector, 478 trucks entered the Republic of Moldova, a slightly higher flow than in previous days.
Also, starting today, the General Inspectorate for Emergency Situations (IGSU) will implement protection measures for drivers in queues for crossing the state border with Romania. Thus, rescuers will install support islands equipped with sanitary block, drinking water and medical block. IGSU also intends to set up a space for cooking and dining.
At the same time, this week, the Moldovan authorities continue discussions with the Romanian side for the effective operationalization of the control of the mixed teams at the crossing point of the Leușeni-Albița border.
