Moldovan PM, IMF deputy head visited school in Gura Bâcului village

Chisinau, June 15 / MOLDPRES /- Prime Minister Natalia Gavrilița and IMF Deputy Managing Director Kenji Okamura visited Gura Bâcului Gymnasium, Anenii Noi district, the government's communication and protocol department has reported.

The IMF leadership provided the educational institution with $ 15,000 in material support in the form of interactive whiteboards, notebooks, monoblocks, and printers needed to equip the computer class.

They were greeted by pupils from all classes who told them about the activities they are going to have during the summer holidays. In total, 228 pupils study at Gura Bâcului Gymnasium, and during the summer almost a hundred pupils, refugees from Ukraine are involved in the extracurricular activities carried out by the institution.

Attending the event, mayor of the town Lilia Brehova thanked the IMF management for the donation offered and expressed joy that more and more schools in rural areas are equipped with high-performance equipment, which will increase the quality of education and performance school. In recent years, the institution has been renovated with the support of local public administration and international organizations.

The officials also visited the village library where a guest book was installed, with Prime Minister Gavrilița and Kenji Okamura being the first guests of honor to sign it.
