Chisinau, June 15 / MOLDPRES /- The Imaging and Radiology Department of the St. Archangel Mihail Municipal Hospital has been equipped with a modern CT scanner.

Attending the inauguration event, Chisinau mayor Ion Ceban said that the modern equipment will allow doctors to conduct quality medical investigations. "This is the most important medical project in the last 30 years and we are glad that we managed to carry it out. We want to have a strong and well-organized medical system in the capital, that's why the health field must not know limitations in financing ", he said.

The head of the General Directorate of Medical and Social Assistance of the capital, Boris Gîlca, said that the computerized tomograph purchased is of the latest generation and allows thorough evaluations. "Our task is to equip medical institutions with high-performance equipment. It was difficult to identify money for this device, but it was worth it. We want a strong municipal health system, and medical staff to be able to work in modern conditions. Today's investment is an investment in the health of the capital's inhabitants and we will do our best to equip other hospitals in the city with such high-performance equipment ", he said.

According to experts, the acquisition will increase the performance of diagnoses, as the computed tomography has a modern evaluation system, including cardiovascular, and emits a low degree of radiation, which will allow harmless investigations.

The project cost about 12 million lei (600 thousand euros), money allocated by the capital's City Hall. This year, the municipality has allocated over 60 million lei for the implementation of health projects.
