Moldovan parliament adopts draft on improving legal framework for day workers

19:32 | 16.06.2022 Category: Economic

Chisinau, 16 June /MOLDPRES/ - The MPs today voted, in the final reading, a draft law, the goal of which is to improve the legal framework of the occasional unqualified activity carried out by day workers.

Under the document, the period on which day workers can carry out activities for the same beneficiary (economic agent) is extended from 90 days to 120 days.

Also, the draft law excludes the day worker’s obligation to be part of the public system of mandatory social insurances based on individual contract, concluded with the National Social Insurances House (CNAS), as well as the obligation to be part of the mandatory health insurances system. These two obligations are to be switched to the employer. At the same time, the term of one working day (8 hours) at establishing the quantum of remuneration per hours is removed. Concomitantly, the status of unemployed of the person kept in the records in this respect, but who manages, at the same time, to carry out activities of day worker, will be preserved.

Therefore, the labour relations between the day workers and employers are brought to legal field; at the same time, the most important thing is that the day workers get the right for the labour carried out in this capacity to be taken into account at the retirement.
