Ungheni high school to start new school year after renovation, modernization

Chisinau, June 17 / MOLDPRES /- The energy efficiency works of the Mihai Eminescu Theoretical High School in Ungheni, carried out within a project implemented by the Regional Development Agency (ADR) Center with the financial support of the EU were monitored yesterday by a team of construction specialists. They are due to be completed by mid-August so that the institution is ready for the start of the new school year.

Currently, at the high school in Ungheni, thermal rehabilitation works are being carried out on the façade of block A, installation of ventilation system piping, wiring change and internal finishing works. "In the near future, the works for the arrangement of the adjacent territory are to be executed", ADR Centru said.

According to the Agency, following the implementation of this investment measure, 101 employees and 1187 high school students will benefit from improved conditions. Energy consumption in this educational institution will be reduced by 1500 MWh and the annual standard CO2 emissions will be reduced by 330 tons.

The value of the enterprise contract is 47,566,651.00 lei (about 2.4 million euros), the duration of the contracted works being 12 months.

The project increasing the energy efficiency of Mihai Eminescu high school in Ungheni is funded by the European Union in cooperation with the project Modernization of Local Public Services in Moldova, which is implemented by the Agency for International Cooperation of Germany in partnership with the Ministry Infrastructure and Regional Development and financial support from the German Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development.
