Chisinau, June 17 / MOLDPRES /- The Moldovan Railway (CFM) announced today that in the context of ongoing price increases, it does not plan price increases for train travel tickets.

According to the company, passenger transport accounts for only 1% of the railway's revenue, or changing the ticket price would be a difficult process and the effect would be minimal.

"Finally, we focus on popularizing this means of transport among citizens, increasing the flow of freight and expanding transit corridors. At present, most of the revenue is from rail freight. Only in the first quarter of this year, the transport of goods increased by about 90% ", CFM said.

Currently, the prices for a trip on the route Chisinau - Bucharest are 605-680 lei (about 30 euros), depending on the comfort class. Children between the ages of 4 and 12 will receive a discount of up to 40%. Also, travelers have the opportunity to purchase low-cost tickets for the Chisinau-Bucharest flight, according to the SMART- "Friendship" fares, at a price of only 19 euros. The price for the Chisinau - Iasi flight is 90-130 lei, depending on the comfort class.

For domestic flights: Chisinau-Ungheni - between 27 and 49 lei, depending on the comfort class (for children up to 12 years, the ticket price varies between 14 and 25 lei), for the Chisinau-Bender flight - 10 lei.
