Moldovan parliament speaker meets delegation of European Parliament's Committee on Development

Chisinau, 17 June /MOLDPRES/ - Parliament Speaker Igor Grosu has met the members of a delegation of the European Parliament’s Committee on Development, on a visit to Chisinau, the parliament’s communication and public relations department has reported.
The discussions were focused on the process of Moldova’s integration into the European Union, the consequences of the war in Ukraine and the management of the refugees’ crisis.
”We appreciate the support the European Parliament is providing to our state. We stay firmly attached to the European integration processes,’’ Parliament Speaker Igor Grosu said.
The speaker also expressed gratitude for the support provided to manage the refugees’ crisis. ‘’Since the beginning of the war, more than 474,000 refugees have entered Moldova and presently our country hosts about 80,000 Ukrainian citizens who fled the war. At the same time, we are also seriously hit by this conflict from the economic and social viewpoints,’’ the parliament speaker noted.
On 15-17 June, a delegation of the European Parliament’s Committee on Development is on a fact-collecting visit to Moldova.
