Chisinau-Orhei-Balti road 76% rehabilitated

Chisinau, June 20 / MOLDPRES /- Leadership of the Ministry of Infrastructure and Regional Development and the State Road Administration (ASD) assessed the level of execution of the rehabilitation works of the national road R6 Chisinau-Orhei-Balti and found that they are 76% ready, according to a statement of ASD.

The route is 29.7 km long and provides for the reconstruction of roads, the rehabilitation of ten bridges, the strengthening of the embankment to prevent landslides in the Sangerei bypass, the installation of 605 road signs, the construction of new bridges.

"Currently, the contractor is carrying out works of laying the wear layer, installing the markings of different types, laying the binder layer", ASD said.

The rehabilitation works have a value of about 36 million euros, money allocated to the Moldovan government by the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development.
