Chisinau, June 22 / MOLDPRES /- The cabinet approved a draft law on allocation of a lot of agricultural land for the construction of a modern complex for collecting and processing animal by-products (SOA), which are not meant for human consumption. It is an area of 2.5 ha of agricultural land, under the management of the State Enterprise Criuleni Experimental Teaching Station, the government's communication and protocol department has reported.
Current methods of processing SOA do not meet international practices. They involve increased risks to public health and environment, creating major difficulties in ensuring the traceability of products of animal origin and thus preventing their access to export markets.
According to a study, the animal by-products processing unit will provide more than 30 new jobs.
The construction of the animal by-products processing unit is in line with the commitment assumed by the Republic of Moldova through Moldova-EU Association Agreement on the third financing of the Moldovan Agricultural Competitiveness Project (MAC-P)
