Chisinau, 27 June /MOLDPRES/ - We have noticed on the last days the interest of more officials from Russia to set forth their opinions on the developments in Moldova, with false non-existent and parallel subjects promoted. On this occasion, we want to make certain clarifications, in order not to enter subsequent polemics.

The European integration of Moldova, which has constantly advanced in the last decades, is backed by most Moldova’s citizens and on the last days culminated with the providing of the status of candidate for accession under the decision of all EU member states, which opens a new page in the history of the our country’s modern history.

The fact that all countries which passed through the process of accession to EU have become stable and resilient, both politically and economically, is well-known. Thus, besides all the already well-known advantages in the society, the European integration will strengthen Moldova’s sovereignty, law-enforcement institutions and our democracy and the status of state candidate will improve the processes of reform and European development, having a clear-cut direction and purpose – European integration.

The country’s modernization, the creation of better living conditions, the guaranteeing of the rights and freedoms are principal subjects, in order to strengthen the citizens’ social cohesion, no matter the ethnic affiliation and the political beliefs.

The Moldovan-Romanian dialogue is developing based on the strategic partnership for Moldova’s European integration. It is well known that Romania was the first state to recognize the independence of Moldova and has presently become the principal commercial partner of our country and an active backer of the processes of European transformations of Moldova. This mature relation and of mutual confidence between two sovereign states and with more common goals is an example in the bilateral dialogue.

In the conditions of war, of an unprecedented economic and humanitarian crisis triggered by the latter, we support the joint effort of the international community of re-establishing peace in the region and abstaining from declarations which do not contribute to anything but escalate the situation.
