Moldovan cabinet approves establishing e-Vinieta Information System

Chisinau, 29 June /MOLDPRES/ - The cabinet today approved the establishment of the e-Vinieta (e-Vignette) Information System, which will allow more efficiently regulate the mechanism of payment of the tax for the use of roads by the vehicles registered in Moldova. Thus, the procedures of record, verification and control of the payment of the concerned tax will be consolidated, the government’s communication and protocol department has reported.   

At the same time, decision-makers will ensure the issuance of vignettes and the facilitation of the payment of the tax through the Governmental Service of Electronic Payments (MPay), established by the government, as well as the setting of clear-cut procedures and responsibilities in the process of management of the e-Vinieta Information System.  

The establishment of the e-Vinieta platform will contribute to the facilitation of the permanent exchange of data between the Infrastructure and Regional Development Ministry (MIDR), Interior Ministry and the Customs Service through the inter-operability platform (MConnect), for making the verification and control as to the regime of payment of the tax.  

The draft also sees the approval of the regulation on the work of the information system. It regulates the interaction with other state information systems, the legal regime of use of system’s data, the process of data’s registration, data’s change and completion.    

The e-Vinieta Information System is to be launched in a period of three months after the date of the entrance into force of the present draft. The maintenance and continuous development of the e-Vinieta Information System will be ensured by MIDR, through the State Administration of Roads.
