Moldovan government approves concept of information system in protection of child sector

Chisinau, 29 June /MOLDPRES/ - The quality of social services provided to children and families with children will be improved and the competent authorities will be able to promptly intervene in order to prevent the risk situations. The cabinet of ministers today approved the concept of the information system in the field of protection of the child, the government’s communication and protocol department has reported.   

The new system will facilitate the process of collection, processing and dissemination of data got from various public authorities in charge of the segment of the social assistance, health, public order and justice, which participate in the fulfillment of the measures of child’s social protection. At the same time, the system will replace the processes of manual reporting, which used forms on paper, the collection of data by phone or through card indexes, integrating them in a single system, based on a coherent information structure.

Also, this instrument will allow monitoring the performance in cases of children in the records of the custody authorities in matters regarding the providing of social services, prevention and combating of violence against child, child’s repatriation, assistance of children victims/witnesses of offences.   

The information system is adjusted to the international standards and is adapted, at the same time, to the present needs and requirements nationally.
