Chisinau, 6 July /MOLDPRES/ - The micro, small and medium-sized agricultural producers will benefit from a 100-per cent compensation of the excise duty on the diesel used since the beginning of this year or 2,980 lei/ton. The cabinet approved a decision to this end at a meeting today, the government’s communication and protocol department has reported.

At the same time, the excise duty on diesel will be fully paid for all types of exploitations in the animal husbandry sector. The big farmers will benefit from compensations in quantum of 30 per cent or 894 lei/ton.

On this purpose, 120 million lei will be additionally allocated from the National Fund of Development of Agriculture and Rural Environment. Thus, the fund for the full reimbursement of the excise duty for agricultural producers will stand at 320 million lei.

The applicants for compensations will be able to submit, during the year, files to the territorial offices of the Agency of Intervention and Payments for Agriculture and by one file per one half year. The maximal ceiling for one beneficiary is of 200,000 lei annually, twice as much against the earlier provisions. Thus, the new amendments will allow the small and medium-sized agricultural producers to carry out mechanized works on about 800 hectares.

The amendments were made, given the increase in price for diesel, both internationally and nationally. The financial sources provided for the compensation of the excise duty for diesel will provide the producers with the needed financial means for carrying out the season agricultural works and maintaining the animal husbandry enterprises.
